Tottenham hit with injury blow

Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone has revealed that he is set to undergo surgery on his injured ankle on Friday, and will be sidelined for the rest of the campaign.

The central midfielder suffered ligament damage back in August, and has not featured for Harry Redknapp’s men this season apart from Europa League games against Hearts and the first two Premier League fixtures.

Huddlestone broke his news on Twitter, as the White Hart Lane faithful wished him well with his operation.

“Thanks for msgs! My season is over b4 its even started, operation Friday!! Main objective is to make sure I’m 100% for pre season. Tough times but part and parcel of the job I guess,” he stated on the social networking site.

Meanwhile Spurs have announced on their official website that Brazil under-20’s defender Bruno Uvini has joined the north London club on a two-month trial.

An under-20’s World Cup winner with Brazil, Uvini has played eight games for club Sao Paulo, and will train with the development squad until April.
