Tottenham Hotspur is believed to be targeting Aly Cissokho to add to their ranks despite the fact that he only joined Aston Villa in the summer, Mirror reports.
The 27-year-old was on loan from Valencia at Liverpool during the previous campaign and has now become a first team regular at Villa Park, appearing in all 17 Premier League matches this season.
His form has been on a rise and is now on the transfer radar of Tottenham as well as Serie A side Napoli, both of whom are keen on making a move in the January window.
Cissokho only recently signed a four-year contract with the Villians and based on his regular role under Paul Lambert, it is unlikely that he will be considering a departure any time soon.
However, Lambert is already said to be preparing possible replacements should the French left-back decide to leave the club, a switch that could be influenced by Villa’s league form.
