Tottenham Hotspur are planning a £6million bid to try and sign Sporting Lisbon star Islam Slimani, who is also said to be a striking candidate for West Ham United, Daily Star reports.
The 26-year-old is currently being scouted by the club and he would have done himself no harm by scoring a goal for Algeria in their 3-1 African Cup of Nations victory over South Africa.
Apart from the Hammers, Leicester City were also previously linked with a move for the forward after he became a target for a number of clubs due to his performance at the World Cup.
He was valued at a higher price during the summer due to his displays in Brazil, but with reported financial problems at Sporting, the Portuguese club may allow him to leave for a cut-price deal.
Mauricio Pochettino is likely to undergo a January squad overhaul in hopes to free up some financial room in order to bring in his own set of preferred players.
