Georges-Kevin Nkoudou won’t be joining Tottenham Hotspur, according to French media outlet Le Phoceen.
Spurs have been in talks with Marseille over a move for the 21-year-old for weeks now, after an impressive season in Ligue 1, scoring 5 goals from 28 appearances.
It was 9 goals and 5 assists in all competitions for the winger, with Spurs looking to add his pace to their strong counter-attacking team. But despite the youngster staying in a London hotel to complete a move, he’s now set to head back to France, with the move called off.
It also means Clinton N’Jie’s proposed swap to Marseille is also off. However, the proposed loan deal wasn’t directly dependent on a move for Nkoudou, and could still be resurrected later on in the transfer window.
N’Jie only played in 8 Premier League games last season, failing to score in his debut campaign. But it became apparent that the youngster hadn’t done enough to impress boss Mauricio Pochettino, and could still depart the club on loan this summer.
