Tottenham Hotspur have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Bournemouth star Matt Ritchie, according to reports from The Sun.
Ritchie only returned to the English top flight (he made two previous appearances for Portsmouth back in 2010) this season after being promoted with the Cherries, but his performances have earned rave reviews from fans and plaudits.
And this has seen the Red Devils and now Tottenham interested in his signature, despite Ritchie only signing a new contract extension back in January.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of developing young British talent, and the Argentine is considering a summer bid for the Scotland international.
If the Lilywhites submit a bid for the 26-year-old, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is unlikely to stop Ritchie joining one of the country’s top clubs, boosting Pochettino’s chances of landing the midfielder.
Bournemouth were one of the favourites when the season began back in August, but after three wins out of their last four games, the Cherries have propelled themselves to 13th and are likely to escape the drop.
