Tottenham lead chase for 14-goal Premier League striker

The chase for Saido Berahino’s signature has turned in the favour of Tottenham Hotspur, that is according to reports in the Daily Mail.

Mauricio Pochettino believes that if he can partner Saido Berahino with his England U-21 strike partner, and north London derby hero, Harry Kane then they will have a strikeforce that can either secure Champions League football next season – or make them a force to be reckoned with in the competition should they secure a top four berth at the end of this campaign.

Berahino, who has nine Premier League goals so far this season, was forced to start today’s clash with Burnley on the bench after Tony Pulis revealed that the striker was put on the naughty chair following comments about his inclusion in West Brom’s FA Cup victory over Gateshead at the beginning of January.

Liverpool were also believed to be interested in securing the services of the 21-year-old, however, they’ve now turned their attentions to Burnley’s Danny Ings.
