Tottenham are ready to make a move for West Brom defender Jonas Olsson in the transfer window, Mirror Football indicate.
The Sweden international is entering the last year of his contract at the Hawthorns, and is believed to be available for as little as £3 million, with the Baggies concerned that they will lose the Scandinavian for nothing in 12 months time.
Spurs are plotting an overhaul of their defence this summer, with Ajax’s Jan Vertonghen their main transfer target and a deal reportedly close.
However, with Ledley King, William Gallas and Michael Dawson all suffering long-term injuries in 2011-12, Harry Redknapp wants to add strength in depth at the heart of his backline.
Olsson has been earmarked as potential cover, and could well make a switch to White Hart Lane.
Meanwhile, Steven Caulker has also been summoned back to north London after a successful loan spell at Swansea, and is believed to be part of Redknapp’s first-team plans for next term.
