Tottenham loanee open to permanent move

Jake Livermore has refused to rule out making his loan move to Hull from Tottenham a permanent one over the summer.

The midfield ace has spent the current season with the newly promoted Tigers, becoming a key member of Steve Bruce’s starting XI.

Livermore has struck up a solid relationship with another ex-Spurs star in the shape of Tom Huddlestone, which has helped the KC Stadium side to move clear of the relegation zone after being tipped as one of the favourites for the drop before a ball was kicked.

His form has led to talk of a return to London at the end of the season, but Livermore says that he is enjoying his football at Hull:

“Long term, I love the squad here. I love everything around here.” He is quoted by Sky Sports.

“The gaffer’s great. I like the way we try to play football. It’s a big statement, the players he’s signed. To go and spend that money to bring in that sort of quality, it proves which way he wants the club to go.

“For any young player signing, that’s a massive boost.

“Personally I still feel like I’ve got a point to prove. I was in and out at Tottenham and it’s not a nice feeling when managers don’t come and talk to you and tell you what you’re doing wrong or why you don’t get the chance you feel you should be given.”

Livermore has also been suggested as an outsider for a shock England call-up ahead of the World Cup on the back of his fine displays for Hull.
