Tottenham are planning a £15million move for West Brom and England Under-21 star Saido Berahino, according to the Daily Star.
Mauricio Pochettino had a quiet first transfer window at White Hart Lane, recruiting mainly defensive players.
Berahino has made a superb start to the season with the Baggies, hitting five Premier League goals already.
He also scored for England Under-21’s as they came back to beat Croatia last night, and has been tipped for a call up to Roy Hodgson’s senior squad.
Berhaino netted his ninth goal for the Under-21’s last night, putting him only behind Alan Shearer and Francis Jeffers in the highest scorers of all time for England at that level.
Tottenham scout Ian Broomfield was at Molineux to watch him support Harry Kane for the Under-21’s last night, with Spurs seriously considering a £15million January offer for the starlet.
Pochettino is keen to add some attacking reinforcements to his squad during the winter transfer window, with chairman Daniel Levy confirming to him there will be money to spend.
Tottenham’s current strikers Emmanuel Adebayor, Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado, have managed just one Premier League goal between them this term.
