Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca to White Hart Lane when the transfer opens up again, that is according to reports in the Mirror.
Paul Mitchell, Spurs’ new head of recruitment after leaving Southampton, was sent to watch the former Club Brugge striker during Sevilla’s recent Europa League clash Borussia Moenchengladbach – a tournament Tottenham exited on the same day following a 2-0 defeat to Fiorentina.
Mauricio Pochettino is looking to ease the burden on England’s new golden boy Harry Kane – 14 goals in England’s top flight this season – with Roberto Soldado struggling to recreate his Valencia form for the Lilywhites whilst Emmanuel Adebayor came close to leaving White Hart Lane in the recently closed transfer window.
Bacca, who has 14 La Liga goals and four assists so far this season, signed a new deal with Sevilla less than six months ago. The contract includes a release fee clause of £18million.
