Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer Mauricio Pochettino a huge contract offer worth £5.5million-a-year after a brilliant season, with the Lilywhites still challenging for the title, Daily Mail reports.
Spurs are ready to make Pochettino the best paid manager in the club’s history, with performance bonuses added in for extra incentive.
It is believed that club chairman Daniel Levy and the Argentine held talks over the international break, with the Tottenham hierarchy now waiting for Pochettino to give an answer.
The North London side are eagerly hoping that Pochettino agrees to the new deal, as the 44-year-old’s recent work has not gone unnoticed by Europe’s elite.
Pochettino’s men are currently trailing Leicester City by seven points, but with six games still to go, a slip-up by the Foxes can see the Lilywhites gain quick ground on the league leaders.
But next up for Spurs are Manchester United, who are on fine form having won four out of their last five games.
