Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be on the verge of making a £25million offer for West Bromwich Albion star Saido Berahino, according to reports from the Mirror.
The 22-year-old was linked with a club exit ever since the January window, but opted to remain until the summer as manager Tony Pulis prepares to use the funds from his sale to buy new additions.
“We expect to do a lot of business over the next two weeks – in and out,” he said.
West Brom are standing firm on their price demand for the player while Spurs are still hoping to sign him for £5million less than his valuation.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino recently admitted his intentions to sign another striker ahead of transfer deadline day.
He was forced to take off star forward Harry Kane in the 2-2 draw with Stoke City as he saw his side give up a two goal lead to only come away with a point.
However, Pochettino defended his decision to substitute Kane by stating that the England international will still need to regain his fitness as well as his confidence.
“He needs time to improve his performance, his fitness level and to build his confidence again,“ he said.
