Tottenham Hotspur are ready to begin negotiations with Mousa Dembele over a new contract after impressing so far this season, Mirror reports.
The 28-year-old is now in the final 18 months of his current deal as manager Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be keen on retaining his services.
He was earlier tipped to be on his way out after failing to hold down a regular role in the squad, but after a number of convincing displays, he is set to be rewarded.
Dembele was linked with a switch to Serie A outfits Napoli during the summer after only managing to register 10 starts for his side over the course of the previous campaign.
However, the Belgium international could now be ready to discuss the terms of his extension given that Pochettino has already started him seven times out of a possible 11 times this term.
Spurs currently find themselves fifth on the Premier League table, one points behind Manchester United in forth and only five away from Manchester City and Arsenal who are level on points in first and second respectively.
