Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer Jan Vertonghen a new contract according to The Daily Mail, as the North London side look to get their key players to commit to the club.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men had an excellent 2015-16 season and there is certainly a collective feeling that something special is brewing at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have moved to extend the deals of a host of players in recent times, with the likes of Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Kyle Walker all penning new deals.
Vertonghen is an important member of the North London side’s back line and has formed a formidable centre-half partnership with compatriot Toby Alderweireld over the last 12 months.
The pair have played together at Ajax in the past and their partnership was a key reason for Spurs finishing third in the Premier League last season.
The latest report suggests that Vertonghen will be the next man to sign on the dotted line at White Hart Lane, with the left-footed defender set to commit to the ongoing project under Pochettino.
