Tottenham star reveals reason for being substituted at half-time in 3-0 win

Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli has calmed fans after he was taken off in the first half during their 3-0 win over Norwich City, according to reports from the London Evening Standard.

Alli once again continued his fine form with another goal and assist, but was replaced by Nacer Chadli at half-time despite not looking as if he picked up an injury.

However, the England international has revealed that he was hooked off by manager Mauricio Pochettino as a precaution after admitting he felt unwell.

“I felt a bit unwell so I came off but I’m ok,” he said.

“We knew they wouldn’t make it easier for us but we scored good goals and killed it off at the end.

“We focused on our own performance and that was key. We had a game plan and we stuck to it and the chances came.”

The 19-year-old signed for the Lilywhites in the January transfer window last year but only arrived at White Hart Lane from MK Dons in the summer, and has been a revelation in Pochettino’s midfield this term.

His strike against the Canaries was already his seventh goal in his debut Premier League season, which will bode well for him ahead of Euro 2016.

Spurs will host Watford at home in their next league fixture this Saturday.
