Tottenham Hotspur attacker Erik Lamela has stated that his side are as good as any in the Premier League and has backed the North London outfit to finish in the top four this season.
The White Hart Lane outfit have been on an incredible unbeaten run and can move into fourth place today if they beat Newcastle at home.
Mauricio Pochetino’s ideals are seemingly starting to sink in at Spurs, with a young hungry team looking like they have more resolve than previous Tottenham teams.
Lamela has been much improved this season and scored a notable hat-trick against Monaco in the Europa League in midweek.
The Argentina international has stated that his side have the beating of any side in England and are odds-on for a Champions League qualification berth this term.
“I am very confident about the squad and the team we have at the moment. When we are playing at our top form we can take on anyone. We are equal to any team in the league,” The Express quote Lamela as saying.
“If at the end of the season we can look back and see Spurs in the top four that would be a great personal achievement and it would prove that the team has done a great job as well.”
Lamela is in line to start against Newcastle today, but has the likes of Son Heung-min and Andros Townsend as competition for a first-team slot.
