Tottenham Hotspur are pondering a move for Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller as a replacement for potentially departing star Hugo Lloris, according to reports from talkSPORT.
With Manchester United looking likely to lose David de Gea to Real Madrid this summer, Lloris has become a target for the Red Devils amid the Spaniard’s expected departure.
Spurs will therefore only have Michel Vorm as the club’s senior goalkeeper, and the Lilywhites themselves will need to either find an adequate back-up or another first choice shot-stopper.
Weidenfeller’s current future with Dortmund has come into doubt following the signing of Roman Burki from Frieburg, and the German could consider a move to the Premier League.
The BVB had a rollercoaster campaign last season, in which the club were dangling near the relegation zone before Christmas but were able to qualify for the Europa League after an upturn in form.
Long-serving manager Jurgen Klopp also left the Westfalenstadion at the end of the season, signalling change at the club.
