Liverpool are now in pole position to sign Burnley’s Danny Ings after it is believed that he rejected a move to join Real Sociedad in favour of a switch to Anfield, according to reports from the Mirror.
The 22-year-old was also a target for Tottenham Hotspur throughout January, as a number of clubs were looking to secure his signature when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Ings travelled to Spain in order to hold talks with former Manchester United manager David Moyes, who is now in charge at Sociedad.
However, it looks as though the English striker is keen on staying in the Premier League after ruling out a move to La Liga.
With his deal set to expire in the summer, Brendan Rodgers may finally have a chance to acquire the services of the player ahead of Chelsea and Manchester City, both of whom made a late January attempt to sign the Clarets’ attacker.
