Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a summer move for commanding Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi, The Daily Star report.
The White Hart Lane club have had a phenomenal campaign under Mauricio Pochettino and look almost certain to be playing Champions League football next season.
As a result, the North London outfit will look to strengthen their squad given that there will be more games to play and a higher standard required.
Mustafi was part of the Germany squad that won the World Cup in Brazil back in 2014 and has been a dominant figure for Valencia this season, despite the Mestalla outfit struggling to some degree.
A centre-half firstly, the former Everton youth player is versatile enough to feature at full-back or in defensive midfield also if needed.
Spurs have a venerable centre-half pairing in Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, who have solidified the side’s rearguard, while Kevin Wimmer has been an able deputy when required.
