Tottenham to make move for Man City midfielder

Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood is eyeing up a summer move for Manchester City bit-part midfielder James Milner, as reported by The Sun.

The England international has 14 months remaining on his contract at the Etihad and City are yet to start negotiations on an extension, leaving the former Aston Villa man unsure on his future.

Milner said last week that he wants to stay at City despite being unable to find regular first team football, something that was evident when Manuel Pellegrini selected an entire foreign XI for their Capital One Cup win last Sunday.

Milner is in line to start today however against Wigan in the FA Cup but a bid from a club like Tottenham could turn his head in the next few months.

Again, despite playing a bit-part role for the champions elect, Milner is set to be in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the World Cup in Brazil this summer although he wants his future decided before the tournament.
