Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their chase for Liverpool target Saido Berahino by attempting to negotiate a swap deal with West Bromwich Albion involving both Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon, Mirror reports.
Tony Pulis, who was only recently appointed as the new WBA manager, is keen to rebuild his squad and could cash in on the likes of the 21-year-old want-away striker.
He is said to be looking to add some wingers to his squad and may even be interested in the offer to offload Berahino, a player who is looking to force a move either way.
The attacker refused to celebrate despite scoring four FA Cup goals against Gateshead, fuelling speculation that he is currently unhappy with his role.
Brendan Rodgers is also hoping he can secure the £20million-rated forward, but it is likely that the potential pace from both Townsend and Lennon may be quite hard for Pulis to turn down.
