Tottenham will make another attempt to sign Saido Berahino in January, but have Alexandre Pato in their sights as an alternative, according to The Daily Star.
The North London club tried to sign the West Brom forward in the summer, but saw a number of bids for the starlet rejected by the Baggies.
Mauricio Pochettino lacks proven cover for main striker Harry Kane after the likes of Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor left White Hart Lane.
The latest report suggests that Berahino is still Spurs’ top target, but the North London side have a contingency plan if West Brom continue to dig their heels in.
Pato, who has been in sparkling form for Corinthians in his homeland, is said to be available at an £8 million fee, with scope for Tottenham to move for the Brazilian.
Liverpool and West Ham are both listed as suitors of the former AC Milan attacker also.
