Tottenham Hotspur are set to use outcast Andros Townsend as a makeweight in a January move for Saido Berahino, The Daily Star report.
The North London side make a number of attempts to sign the West Brom attacker over the summer, but the Baggies held out after their asking price was not met.
Berahino was keen to switch to White Hart Lane and acted with frustration after his supposed move was canned at the 11th hour on transfer deadline day.
Townsend has been on the fringes of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad this season and was recently reprimanded for a blow-up with one of the club’s fitness coaches.
The England international is said to be keen to move clubs in an effort to play regularly and win a spot in Roy Hodgson’s squad for Euro 2016.
The report suggests that Tottenham are ready to launch a cash-plus Townsend deal in January, which could well suit all parties.
