Tottenham are winning the race to sign highly-rated midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson according to Sky Sports.
The Iceland international starred for Swansea on loan for the second half of last season, and as such has caused a transfer scramble between a number of Premier League sides this summer.
The Liberty Stadium side were thought to have almost wrapped up a deal to bring the Scandinavian star to Wales on a permanent basis, but with Brendan Rodgers leaving the team for Liverpool Sigurdsson’s thoughts changed.
The Northern Irishman is considering raiding his former club for new players at Anfield, with Sigurdsson seemingly ready to follow his old boss to the Merseyside outfit.
Despite this, Tottenham have weighed into the battle for the playmaker’s signature recently, and the latest suggestions are that the White Hart Lane club are winning the race to sign him from Hoffenheim.
A supposed £8 million fee has been agreed with the Bundesliga side, with Tottenham now in a prime position to sign Sigurdsson.
