Rose returned from injury on Thursday night in the Europa League victory over Anzhi and is expected to play again on Sunday at home to Liverpool.
Jan Vertonghen has been filling in on the left side of the Spurs back four, although the Belgian has openly expressed his displeasure at playing there.
Rose has confirmed that he has spoken to boss Andre Villas-Boas about future signings in his position and is confident that he will be the number one left back at White Hart Lane for the long term.
‘Of course that is my job (to prove Tottenham do not need another left back),’ Rose said.
‘I would be the first one to find out if the club were looking to do that.
‘I thought the club were going to do that in August, so I went to see the manager, sat down with him and he told me it was not true and if the club was going to do that he would come and speak to me first hand.
‘I have got a lot of respect for the manager and he has got a lot of respect for me. He treats me as one of the big players here and it is the first time I have had that at this club.’
