Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini insists he is not concerned with Yaya Toure’s poor run of form.
The Ivorian midfielder has struggled in recent weeks after what was a testing summer for the 31-year old.
Toure lost his brother while on international duty with the Ivory Coast squad in Brazil and had a public falling out with the Citizens.
However, he popped up with a late goal to deny Aston Villa on Saturday and Pellegrini reckons he will soon rediscover his sparkle.
“Yaya is an experienced player,” said the City boss.
“He can be criticised for one or two weeks but I know perfectly the way he thinks and the way he can play, so I never had a problem about that.
“Yaya last season also played bad games, but he scored so many goals that everyone thought about that.
“We started the season and Yaya knows he must improve every game and he is trying to do it.
“I don’t have any concern about him. He is one of the best midfielders, without any doubt.”
