Arsenal and Chelsea target Mauro Icardi has played down a potential move away from Inter Milan this summer, according to reports from talkSPORT.
Icardi has been in brilliant form for the Nerazzurri this season, scoring 15 goals in just 26 Serie A games to alert of host of top European clubs.
The Blues, the Gunners, and champions Manchester City have all been monitoring the 22-year-old ‘s contract situation, with Inter extremely keen on extending his current deal to 2019.
However, despite not putting pen to paper over a contract extension, Icardi has assured Inter that he is not looking to leave the Guiseppe Meazza anytime in the near future.
“I still have three years of my contract left,” he said.
“If I renew then my story with Inter could be even longer. If I do not renew, however, I still have three years of the contract.”
Arsenal are targeting a striker in the summer window to lift some of the pressure of Olivier Giroud, who is the Gunners’ only out-and-out striker in their roster.
Meanwhile Chelsea are looking to replace Didier Drogba with Icardi, with the Ivory Coast star considering retirement at the end of the campaign.
