Chelsea and Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their chase for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the striker considering extending his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports from Football Italia.
Ibrahimovic has been heavily linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes in recent weeks, with the Sweden international’s contract running out at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old even came out to joke that the only way he would stay in the French capital is if the club replace the Eiffel Tower with a statue of himself, hinting that he is looking for an exit.
This saw the likes of the Blues and Man United monitoring the situation, but according to Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport, ‘Zlatan’ is looking to sign a one year extension with the Ligue-1 champions on the same salary, but will take a £40million (€50million) offer to head to Qatar after one season.
AC Milan, his former club, were also interested in his signature, but the Italian giants are expected to drop out due to his high value.
Ibrahimovic has made 42 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring 39 goals.
