Arsenal and Chelsea have been rocked in their chase for Lyon ace Samuel Umtiti, with the defender penning a new contract with the French club, according to reports from the Express.
Umtiti has been heavily linked with a move away from Lyon in recent weeks after an impressive season, helping his side finish second only behind Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue-1.
And it was thought he would be available this summer, with Blues boss Jose Mourinho previously hoping to line him up alongside Kurt Zouma in a long-term centre-back pairing.
This means that interested clubs will be forced to look elsewhere, with Premier League winners Chelsea already preparing a massive £34million bid for Everton centre-back John Stones.
Umtiti played 40 games in all competitions last season, scoring two goals.
