Manchester United and Liverpool target James Rodriguez has agreed personal terms with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Rodriguez is set to be heading away from Monaco after just one season in Ligue-1, with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu edging closer.
According to Spanish publication AS, the Colombian star agreed terms after Real Madrid made a £63million offer to the Principality club.
The attacking midfielder was one of the stars of the World Cup, winning the Golden boot with six goals for Colombia.
His impressive displays attracted attention from Europe’s top sides, but it seems the 22-year-old is set to become the next Galactico for the ten-time European champions.
Interest also came from English Premier League clubs Manchester United and Liverpool, but the former Porto wonderkid preferred a move to Spain.
“I’ve said in the past that I’d like to play in Spain one day, because it is a league that is good technically, and where you get a lot of touches on the ball, which is my style,” Rodriguez said during an Adidas event in Brazil.
“The Premier League is maybe a bit physical at this stage.”
