Transfer blow as top Arsenal target set to join Barcelona

Arsenal look set to miss out on Celta Vigo star Nolito, who has reportedly sealed a loan move to Barcelona, according to Goal.

Nolito has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bailados since the summer, with winger having a rather low £13.4million release clause.

Barca were also interested in the player, but they were unable to mount a move do to their previous transfer embargo.

But with the ban lifted, they can make a move for the 29-year-old despite their inability to spend big this month, with a loan deal apparently agreed between the two La Liga clubs according to TV3.

Catalans manager Luis Enrique stated on Tuesday that he wants to add another attacker into his squad this month, and now it seems Nolito is his preferred option.

This will be a blow to the Gunners, who are also looking to reinforce the attacking department and may turn to other targets like Edinson Cavani or Aleksandr Kokorin instead.
