Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted he wants to stay at the La Liga club for the remainder of his career, as reported by ITV Sport.
Speculation has grew during the summer that Manchester United were considering a big money bid to bring the Portuguese hero back to England, but Ronaldo ended talk of a quick return by signing a new deal keeping him in the Spanish capital until 2018.
Ronaldo smashed a stunning hat trick on Tuesday night to send Portugal to the World Cup in Brazil and stepped up the campaign to win this years’ Ballon d’Or.
The 28 year old is possibly at his peak right now but Ronaldo will be 33 when his new deal expires, all but dashing the chances of a romantic return to Old Trafford which many had anticipated.
“I want to stay at Real Madrid for many years, finish my contract here, because after Madrid, there is no bigger club,” Ronaldo told Portuguese reporters.
