Turkish champions Besiktas want to replace West Ham-bound Gokhan Tore with Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri this summer, according to Fotomac.
The Super Lig giants are believed to have agreed a deal in principle to sell their key playmaker to the Hammers, with Slaven Bilic set to be reunited with his former charge at the Olympic Stadium next season.
Tore’s potential departure will leave a sizeable hole in the Besiktas midfield, with the Turks backed to look to the Premier League for a suitable replacement.
Shaqiri only moved to the Potteries from Inter Milan last summer in what was seen at the time as a major transfer coup by Mark Hughes’ men.
The Switzerland international showed fleeting glimpses of his sheer ability of the course of the campaign but also had injuries to fight as he looked to transition into English football.
The report suggests that Besiktas will offer Shaqiri the option of Champions League football and will test Stoke’s resolve with an offer in the near future.
