Chelsea star John Terry has come out to back manager Jose Mourinho despite speculation of the pair sharing a strained relationship, according to reports from the Express.
The 34-year-old was a key member for the current Premier League champions last term, but has already been dropped a number of times due to his decline in performance.
It was believed that Mourinho decided to bench him in order fix his defence, but his side were still struggling to perform despite his many changes.
However, Terry has now come out to admit that only their current manager can guide them back to the top following their bad start to the campaign.
“I have been here a long time and I have seen managers come and go and if anyone is going to get us out of this hole it is going to be Jose Mourinho,” Terry said.
“The players will remain together and fight, and keep fighting for the supporters because they were excellent on Saturday.”
His side are currently sitting in 16th place, 10 points behind league leaders Manchester City after only managing to register two wins from a total of eight matches being played so far.
They recently suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Southampton at the weekend and will host Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge once the international break resumes.
