Liverpool ace Simon Mignolet is closing in on the confirmation of a contract extension that could keep him at Anfield until at least 2021, Daily Star reports.
The 27-year-old currently has two years left on his present deal, but the club are now looking to retain his services even longer.
It is believed that Mignolet has already agreed a deal in principle to extend his stay and is expected to sign a new contract in the coming days.
The goalkeeper has been on the receiving end of quite a bit of criticism from the fans after picking up a number of unconvincing displays for his side.
Former manager Brendan Rodgers also previously decided to drop him from the first team, but has now been backed by new boss Jurgen Klopp to continue his role.
Despite speculation that the Reds were in the market for a new keeper, Klopp has come out to play down the possibility of Mignolet being replaced.
