Liverpool star Simon Mignolet is set to extend his stay at Anfield despite being criticised for his recent performances, Daily Star reports.
The 27-year-old is believed to have already open talks with club officials over the terms of a new deal in order to extend his stay further than the remaining two years.
Mignolet was put under the spotlight following his error which led to West Bromwich Albion scoring their first goal in their recent 2-2 draw with the Reds.
The goalkeeper is now expected to sign a new five-year deal in the coming weeks despite fans urging manager Jurgen Klopp to replace him in the January window.
Klopp is also said to be considering various options in regards to his current keeping situation as a few keepers have already been linked with a future move to the club.
Stoke City’s Jack Butland, Bayer Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno, Mainz’s Loris Karius, as well as Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, have all been tipped as potential candidates to stand between the sticks.
