Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane hopes his goal against Manchester City can silence some of his critics, according to reports from the Mirror.
The 22-year-old was labelled a one-season wonder after it took the striker seven games to score his first Premier League goal given that he managed to net 21 last term.
Kane netted his team’s third goal of the match as manager Mauricio Pochettino’s side overcame previous league leaders City with a 4-1 scoreline.
He admitted that he hoped his first goal of the campaign can take away his label as he urges everyone to judge him at the end of the season.
“Maybe I have shut up a few people. Only seven games and a few said, ‘one-season wonder.’ People can judge me at the end of the season and we will go from there,” he said.
The England international also came out to defend under-fire teammate Erik Lamela who is still being regarded as a flop transfer addition ever since his £30million move from Roma back in 2013.
Lamela managed to net his team’s fourth goal and looks to have found his confident after he was also praised following Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend.
