Manchester United have reportedly made a £20 million bid for Brazilian wonder kid Lucas Moura, in an attempt to sign the 19 year old before he represents his country at the Olympics, reveals Mirror Sport.

Sir Alex Ferguson is set to make the winger his number one target for the remainder of the summer transfer window, with the Glazer’s likely to fund the deal as they face pressure to invest from the Old Trafford faithful.

Lucas Moura could be the addition the Red Devils need to take the league title back off rivals Man City ahead of the coming season, and would also mark the third new arrival to Old Trafford this summer.

Sao Paulo are believed to have valued their starlet as worth £32 million, so there is a distinct possibility that United’s opening offer will need to rise in the coming days.

His appearance at the Olympics at the end of this month could see his transfer fee rise if he impresses, so Fergie and co are eager to secure his signature prior to then.

Inter Milan are also potentially chasing the 19 year old, who stated of his future with Sao Paulo; ‘I cannot guarantee I will stay until the end of my contract. Much has changed and the situation is not up to me anymore.’

Lucas Moura will no doubt be relishing the prospect of joining one of Europe’s giants.
