Unsettled West Ham ace to be offered QPR escape route

Harry Redknapp is ready to end Mauro Zarate’s West Ham woes with a January switch to QPR, according to reports from The Telegraph.

The Argentine-born forward only joined the Hammers over the summer from Velez Sarsfield, but it’s already understood that he’s looking to move on.

A place in Chile’s international set-up – he switched allegiance a few months ago – is the player’s aim, and a lack of action at Upton Park – he’s played just 415 minutes of Premier League football – seen as a worry.

Zarate’s agent has already revealed that there’s interest from other sides, but that staying in English football is his client’s aim, which has alerted Redknapp.

‘Arry is desperate to add more attacking flair to his newly promoted QPR side, with the 27-year-old an option he favours.

Zarate is unlikely to move up the Irons’ first-team pecking order any time soon, with Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia all ahead of him.

A loan move is an option, with West Ham open to a deal for their unsettled ace.
