Chelsea are set to reopen negotiations with Napoli’s Edinson Cavani this week over a move to Stamford Bridge, with the striker wanting £150,000 a week to join the club according to The Daily Mail.
The European champions are looking to strengthen their squad this summer, with Kevin De Bruyne, Marko Marin and Eden Hazard already agreeing to join, with Oscar also on the verge of moving to west London.
However, with Didier Drogba’s departure from the Champions League winners a new forward is on Roman Abramovich’s wishlist, with Cavani one of the speculated targets.
The Uruguay international has terrorised defences across Italy and Europe for the San Paolo side over the last two years, and is adjudged to be one of the most lethal marksmen in world football.
Napoli are ready to accept a £35 million bid from the Premier League side for their prize asset, who is eager to play in the Champions League next season.
However, the South American star wants to join the club’s top earners such as John Terry and Frank Lampard on £150,000 per week.
