Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that he would love to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.
The Portugal international spent six successful years with the Red Devils before being sold to Real Madrid for a world-record transfer fee.
United fans dream about having the current Ballon d’Or winner back at the club, while Ronaldo has been vocal in his admiration and love for the Old Trafford club.
Van Gaal has stated that his side would relish the potential for Ronaldo to sign for them again in the future.
“We are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo,” the Dutchman told BBC Sport.
“But these players are mostly ungettable. With Ronaldo, let’s wait and hope.”
Ronaldo recently extended his contract with the Santiago Bernabeu outfit, but all seems not well at the capital city club.
The Portuguese attacker cut a forlorn figure in yesterday’s 4-0 home defeat to Barcelona in the Clasico, with a section of his own fans booing him when he was on the ball.
United have been bullish in recent transfer windows and are eager to return to winning silverware after a dip in form following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
