The American is leaving after three years at Villa Park with both Liverpool and Spurs chasing the veteran American.
Gerard Houllier apparently sees Camp as the ideal replacement. The 26-year old Northern Irish international is rated as one of the best ‘keepers outside the Premier League and has helped Forest achieve the playoffs in successive seasons.
Despite representing England at Under-21 level, Camp made his Northern Ireland debut earlier this year. He started his career at Derby before moving to QPR and now Forest.
Camp looks set to be one of many departures from the City Ground this year after another season of heartache in playoff defeat. A fee of £3.5 million has been quoted as enough to capture Forest’s 2009/10 Player of the Year.
