Aston Villa have reportedly told Manchester City that they will not sell James Milner for less than £30million.
Last month the former Newcastle United and Leeds United midfielder was linked with a big-money switch to Eastlands although Villa boss Martin O'Neill is reluctant to sell a player who was included in Fabio Capello's England squad for the World Cup finals on Tuesday.
O'Neill and chairman Randy Lerner reportedly held talks with Milner earlier in the week and, although the player did not sign a new contract, the discussions are believed to have been positive.
Milner still has two years remaining on his £45,000-a-week deal and was reportedly the subject of a £20million bid from City a fortnight ago.
The 24-year-old has scored 21 goals in 125 appearances for Villa since his move from Newcastle in August 2008.
