Watford boss Quique Flores has revealed that he is keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur ace Andros Townsend this month, Daily Star reports.
The 24-year-old is also believed to be looking for an exit after being unable to hold down a regular role under manager Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have already rejected a previous move from the Hornets in their chase to sign Townsend, with Flores admitting that the winger would be a perfect fit for his squad.
“He has the characteristics that we are looking for,” he said.
“We have players in the side who can play intelligent football but we need skill and velocity.
“We need to make a balance with these players and he has the characteristics.”
The out-of-favour attacker is currently being valued by his club at around the £14million region, but will want a transfer away in order to impress England boss Roy Hodgson ahead of Euro 2016.
He has yet to start a single Premier League match this season, featuring three times from the bench so far as he struggles to impress Pochettino.
Apart from the England international, Watford are also considering a move to sign former Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who is currently a free agent.
