Watford are considering a move to sign Mario Balotelli after Liverpool are believed to be open to his departure, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 25-year-old is being considered a flop following his £16million move from AC Milan as he was only able to score one Premier League goal from a total of 16 appearances.
Manager Brendan Rodgers earlier admitted that if Balotelli wanted regular football, he may need to accept a move elsewhere.
The recent signings of Christian Benteke and Danny Ings looks to have pushed the striker further down the pecking order as he is also unable to earn himself a place on the bench.
However, Watford will likely struggle to meet Rodgers £10million valuation for the former Manchester City forward given their recent promotion into the Premier League.
Unless Balotelli can find a new club, it is likely that he will continue to be excluded from the senior squad as he is already being forced to train with the youth team.
