Watford are considering a move for former Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor, according to reports from the Mirror.
Adebayor was close to making a summer move to one of either West Ham United or Aston Villa, but the switch fell through ahead of the transfer deadline leaving him stuck at Tottenham.
However, two weeks later Spurs released Adebayor from the squad and the Togo international is now a free agent.
Newly-promoted Watford have reportedly been monitoring his situation, and could make an offer to bring him back to the Premier League this January if he is deemed to be fit.
The Hornets will face some competition for Adebayor’s signature though, with Bournemouth and Sunderland also keen on his services.
But Watford have a slight advantage over the Cherries and the Black Cats, with the 31-year-old hoping to remain in London.
Adebayor only made 17 appearances for the Lilywhites in all competitions last season, scoring two goals.
