Watford have completed the signing of Columbia international Juan Camilo Zuniga on a season-long loan.
The club’s official website confirmed the news, announcing that the Premier League side have the option to buy the defender from Napoli next summer.
Zuniga spent four years working with new Watford manager Walter Mazzarri whilst at Napoli, as the 30-year-old racked up over 150 Serie A appearances for the club since joining in 2009.
The 30-year-old has played in 62 national team fixtures, including four matches during the 2014 Brazil World Cup, when Columbia reached the quarter-finals. He has one international goal to his name, netting against Uruguay in 2012.
Neither the club statement, nor the club’s online store, have confirmed what shirt number the defender will take for the upcoming season.
Mazzarri’s first Premier League game in charge of the Hornets will be on August 13th, as they take on Southampton and their new manager Claude Puel on the opening day.
