Watford are closing in on the £12 million signing of Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra and will beat West Ham to the Argentine star, according to The Daily Star.
The Hornets have added a number of new faces to their squad this summer but manager Walter Mazzarri wants to raid his homeland for more recruits.
Pereyra has played a role in Juventus’ recent domestic dominance but is largely a squad player at the Turin giants.
The Serie A champions are believed to be willing to part company with the South American playmaker this summer and this has sparked a scramble for his services.
Both West Ham United and Leicester City are believed to be interested in Pereyra also, but Watford are winning the race for the midfielder.
A fee in the region of £12 million is said to be enough for Juventus to part company with the Argentina international and see him move to Vicarage Road.
