Gianfranco Zola and his Watford team are preparing for their date with destiny at Wembley on May 27th by getting away from it all at a five star training camp near Marbella in Spain.
With a two week gap between Watford’s stunning second leg win against Leicester and the Championship play-off final vs Crystal Palace, manager Zola asked the club’s owner Gino Pozzo if he could take his players away in order to relieve some of the pressure.
Pozzo agreed and suggested that all the players and team staff take their partners and kids go with them too as a reward for their efforts this season.
One player that will be off to Spain with the squad is Chelsea defender Nathaniel Chalobhah, who scored a stunning goal Leicester at the King Power Stadium. The 18-year-old has been one of the stand out players in the Championship this season and looks like he’ll a future star for club and country.
The Watford party will total almost seventy people and they are expected to be away for at least five days before heading back for final preparations at their Hertfordshire training base before the crucial Bank Holiday clash, that will see one of the two sides reach the promised land of the Premier League.
