West Ham midfielder Kevin Nolan felt the Hammers’ deserved at least a draw against Manchester United.
The former Bolton midfielder returned from injury to play the final 15 minutes of the Old Trafford defeat.
Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie sent the Red Devils into a two-goal lead before Rooney was sent off for a desperate lunge.
Sam Allardyce’s side pushed for an equaliser but it did not come, and Nolan feels that a draw would have been a fair result.
Nolan said: “It’s a feeling of disappointment. I thought we thoroughly deserved a draw and we’re gutted we didn’t get it, but there are lots of positives to take away.
“If we carry on playing the way we have done in the last few weeks we’ll get the results we deserve.
“We fully deserved to get a result and we’re just disappointed that we gave two sloppy goals away.
“That’s how the cookie crumbles sometimes and we’ll get the luck later in the season.”
